Elephant- Elephant Interaction

Did you know elephants just like humans have their individual personalities? Yes, just like us they are or either extroverts (more social) or introverts (less social). They form family bonds within their herds and take part in welcoming rituals, courtship, teaching, complex communication and communal care. Elephant herds consist of mother-calf units creating a matriarchal (female-led) society. The matriarch is the oldest, therefore wisest and most dominant female and she makes the decisions regarding movement, safe and resource acquisition for the rest of the family.
